From the 1590's, the Latin word "fascinatus" and the word "fascinus" both mean to "bewitch, enchant, charm" and also, "spell, witchcraft, enchantment".

It was once said that the word fascinate was used for witches and serpents who were said to be able to cast a spell by a look that rendered one unable to move or resist. In 1815, the word also took on the meaning of "delight, attract and hold the attention of" as if under a hypnotic cast or spell.

Now, the word fascinate also comes from the Greek word "baskanos" which means to "slander, envy, malice" along with "witchcraft and sorcerery". As well, the Latin word "fari" shows up to add the meaning "speak", as well as the Greek word "phaskein" which means "to say".

Fascinate really has its footing near the Hebrew - Aramaic word abracadabra in terms of meaning and manifestation, quite unbeknownst to us. Abracadabra means in Hebrew "I will create as I speak" or Aramaic "I create like the word".

The most intriguing explanation behind this word comes from the Latin PIE root "bhasko" which means "band, bundle" in reference to creating and using an "amulet in the form of a phallus". The word phallus compares to the Latin word "fascinum" which means "human penis, artificial phallus and dildo". Haha! Now it is becoming more interesting, doesn't it?

One can't help but notice that the middle and ending syllables of "cinum" sounds very much like "seamen" and "semen" and is an anagram for "incum" (in cum) which relates to "income" having to do with payments, salary and money.

Additionally, "cinum" affords the idea of the word "cinema" which speaks to the movie industry that "enchants, cast spells, bewitches, speaks, holds our attentions and fascinates us all". This has led us full circle, hasn't it?

But for shits and giggles, let's take a look at the word cinema for just a moment.

Cinema became a word in 1899 which means a "movie hall". I have shared in previous decodes that the word "hall" actually means "hell" while "movie" stems from the words "moving, and in motion". Therefore, movie hall actually means a "moving hell".

Now, the word cinema stems from the French word "cinématographe" that means a "device for projecting a series of photographs in rapid succession so as to produce the illusion of movement". And as a reminder, the word "device" means the "devils' vice" as we've decoded previously.

In Greek, the words "kinēma" and "kinein" both mean "movement, to move" stemming from the PIE root wird "keie-" which means "to set in motion".

However, if you look at the English word cinema, one can see two anagrams bleeding out from it.

The first close enough anagram is "enema", in which the cinema affords us to fall under a spell, "flushing our own thoughts" out from our minds in order to have other thoughts, fantasies and narratives to become implanted within our awareness and our very own storylines.

But the second anagrammatical word of cinema is the word "machine". The word cinema rearranged spells "macine", also known as machine.

Macine, though not a real word other than a name for a cookie, breaks into two syllables, ma + cine which stands for the "sines of matter, or mater/mother". Sines being sine waves, just for clarity's sake. The sine (cine) waves are of the mater, the matrix, the machine!

We can clearly see now that cinema is a "machine", a "moving hallway in hell", whereby a cinematography machine is a "devils device that projects photographs through motion" to cast "spells, bewitch, enchant, charm, hold our attention to, speak into" our minds an alternate reality that begins to fascinate us by possession.

Honestly, I think it's important to take a quick look at the word "photograph" since it is a series of photographs used in motion to project a moving story into our minds whilst visiting a cinema to participate with this machine that is proving to be a moving reel-ality we are finding ourselves in.

Photograph is really a simple breakdown. Photo comes from the word "photo-" which means "light". Graph means "something written". The word photograph means "something written with light".
